  1. He's so helpful! Does it seem like he's always been there? He's so lucky to have found you. Good job, George.

  3. I love that cat. Took you long enough to bend to his will and sit down with him. ;-)

  4. Those are the sweetest pictures of George "helping". He's a lucky found kitty and you are a lucky human to have been found, even if you didn't know you needed a kitty, er two if you count the scaredy one too.
Hey, you missed out on Spring in NM. That's where Arizona blows by on it's way to Texas....that began yesterday. The Olde Bagg,Linda

  6. Wonderful and beautiful, if ineffective, helper! Good to see someone else who works in the dirt without gloves and while wearing rings.

  7. I think I will choose to believe that Deets has been reincarnated as George.

  10. Oh, how lovely to see green shoots...AND to have a helper! ;)

  11. What a good helper you have there, Danni! I just realized I referred to George as Barney the other day. My mistake. Guess I was thinking "Barney the barn cat"!

He is one handsome fella and seems very much at home on Critter Farm.

  14. Oh such a helpful kitty . . . and a purdeeee one too!

  15. With THAT much help . . . Well, it doesn't really matter THAT much does it if you don't get those weeds pulled just right now?!

  16. George is a good fella...and I had a little twinge of nostalgia when Linda Carson commented about Deets. My girls and I miss him too. They'll enjoy this post about George as much I did :)

  17. Now, here's the difference between your charmed life and mine...your sweet kitty winds around your feet and legs. My sweet kittens climb up my bare legs, using their claws as climbing hooks, piercing my flesh through the fabric of my shorts and tee, until they perch on my back and climb on my head while I weed. Yeow! Painful and not helpful. But so stinkin' funny. I've never had cats before -- they're a hoot! Your George is a heartbreaker.

  18. When I saw the title I thought for sure the goat boys would be involved. You know that you and George probably have a different opinion of what happened, he thought you were weeding his litter box - you being a servant species and all.

  20. Oh, he's just, just beautiful!!! He looks like he's just about as helpful as my Goldilocks who keeps trying to convince me she'd be a very good helper when I'm milking.

  21. George is gorgeous! And I wouldn't compare him to Gorgeous George, the wrestler of days gone by, because your George's looks are real!

Emma the Calico Queen likes to stay near me, most of the time. Especially if I'm in the recliner or in bed.

  24. Awwwww - He's so cute. Someone must have missed you, I mean weeding, not the most fun job to help with, you know? :)

  25. I think George is beginning to show his gratitude for having found a home with you. And, perhaps, he's apologizing for intensifying your allergies? But who could resist this charmer?
I wonder of he would move back to his old place if it were inhabited again. I'm guessing not. You just have to look into those eyes and see that he's forever yours.

  27. I have a helper just like that! I have been following your blog for quite some time now, and have been wondering how close we live to each other. I have surmised by your postings that you live within Washington County, but beyond that I'm unsure. My husband and I just moved to 10 acres up on Bald Peak, which is just south out of Hillsboro. Our land needs lots of work and TLC, but I'm hoping to someday have a big veggie garden going with some chickens. I'd love to have goats and mini donkeys, but don't think I'd have the time to give them, since I work full time. We're starting work on building a deer proof fence for the garden now, so hopefully will be able to grow something this year. Really looking forward to some "homesteading". let me know where you're at. We might be really close!

  28. What a good cat George is! It's nice to have a garden helper. Our stray/feral now helps with the chickens although they don't like my assistant all that well!

  29. George is sooooo handsome. And he's apparently a very good gardener too. I bet you had no idea what all you were getting when George adopted you :)
