is NOT what I found in the goats' water bucket this morning:
Pete and Reggie were in a tizzy, wanting to tell me about it:
This will never do:
Here, boys, let me freshen that up for you:
Somebody needs to tell George, the barn cat, that he's got work to do up at the goat house. Stat.
EWWW! I just HATE it when that happens!
ReplyDeleteThe pic of your goat up on the fence rail really made me giggle. That's hilarious. I'm picturing him squealing, saying "GET IT GET IT!" LOL
ReplyDeleteMaybe George was already on the job. Sometimes cat dump their catches in their water dishes, dunno why.
ReplyDeleteMy reaction would have been very similar to Pete's!! Yikes!!
ReplyDeleteGeorge definitely has his work cut out. I hate mice.
ReplyDeleteI should guess he does! Maybe you need another cat. ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend! :)
He wasn't swimming, was he? :P Nice of you to clean that up for the goaties. I love the pic of the goat (Pet?) on the railing!
ReplyDeleteOh, the little cutie probably tread water all night long. Poor goat brothers weren't able to drink for fear of a mouse scrambling up their noses.
ReplyDeletei'm not a fan of mice where they don't belong, but that poor little guy (or girl)! i wonder how long he had to paddle about.
ReplyDeleteOh my - what a surprise! Someone forgot to provide a ladder..
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a cat in the shop, but have tried the plank that is baited that leads to the pool, and it has never worked. Too easy, I guess.
Mouse overboard!
ReplyDeleteWe have that happen occasionally here as well. Poor goats! They didn't ask for flavored water...
ReplyDeleteEwwwww. Well, I guess he forgot his floaties.
ReplyDeleteSeeing Pete (or was that Reggie?) up on the top of the pen is making me have very second thoughts about eventually having goat girls here....just one more reason why I probably shouldn't.
ReplyDeleteEw!! Although I probably would have picked it out of the bucket to see how it really died! (Curiosity killed the cat...) Thankfully I haven't had a single mouse in my barn, but sometimes we get them in our shed.
ReplyDeleteOOh George, you've not been doing your job!
ReplyDeleteAt first I was disappointed that George wasn't doing his job and working for his keep. But then I read Karen Anne's comment, and I understood what really happened. George wanted you to see what a fabulous mouser he is and brought you this morning surprise. Apparently you hadn't sufficiently praised him lately for the obvious reduction in your mouse population.
ReplyDeleteGood cat, George!
Giggle - Pete and Reggie need to "man up" and get the squeaker themselves! My cat drops things in the tub, toilet, her water bowl - but not live catch. It's usually a wide rubber band or plastic cap, her preferred toys!
ReplyDeleteNancy in Iowa
a barn fatality! Was it a suicide or murder?
ReplyDeleteWhile I was excitedly admiring Pete's acrabatic tallents, Malcolm's reaction was a repeated "That's not cool!" Love the picture, but its sure not helping my "Get the Goat" campaign!
so, goats don't like mouse soup?
ReplyDeletePete - "Hey Reggie, did you know that there is a mouse in the water bucket! What is it doing in there?"
ReplyDeleteReggie - "Its obvious Pete, the back stroke!"
We find the occasional mouse soup here too.
ReplyDeleteEEEEeeEEEEkkk!! LOL seeing Pete or Reggie up there is where I would be! hehe CUTE photos! Thanks! for the giggles!
ReplyDeleteGoat boys looked seriously concerned about it too.. haha...cool pic's.. love the goat boys!!!
ReplyDeleteOh. Thank goodness that you're so responsive when the goats call to let you know that there's a mouse in their water. Whew.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I bet Pete and Reggie sure let you know all about that! And it sounds like George is starting to consider himself the house cat :) I found a mouse in the goat water here one morning, too. I guess they can't resist that cool, clear water.
ReplyDeleteEwwwww! Giggling at the goat :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! Fortunately I've never had that happen! I'd like to think it's because my cats are so efficient at their job, but it may just be luck.
ReplyDeleteJust a head's up -- I posted a link to this post today in my blog. Hope that's okay!
