The secret to Oregon's pristine water


is NOT what I found in the goats' water bucket this morning:

Pete and Reggie were in a tizzy, wanting to tell me about it:

Here, boys, let me freshen that up for you:

Somebody needs to tell George, the barn cat, that he's got work to do up at the goat house. Stat.

    The pic of your goat up on the fence rail really made me giggle. That's hilarious. I'm picturing him squealing, saying "GET IT GET IT!" LOL

    Maybe George was already on the job. Sometimes cat dump their catches in their water dishes, dunno why.

    Oh, the little cutie probably tread water all night long. Poor goat brothers weren't able to drink for fear of a mouse scrambling up their noses.

    i'm not a fan of mice where they don't belong, but that poor little guy (or girl)! i wonder how long he had to paddle about.

    Oh my - what a surprise! Someone forgot to provide a ladder..
    We don't have a cat in the shop, but have tried the plank that is baited that leads to the pool, and it has never worked. Too easy, I guess.

    Seeing Pete (or was that Reggie?) up on the top of the pen is making me have very second thoughts about eventually having goat girls here....just one more reason why I probably shouldn't.

    Ew!! Although I probably would have picked it out of the bucket to see how it really died! (Curiosity killed the cat...) Thankfully I haven't had a single mouse in my barn, but sometimes we get them in our shed.

    At first I was disappointed that George wasn't doing his job and working for his keep. But then I read Karen Anne's comment, and I understood what really happened. George wanted you to see what a fabulous mouser he is and brought you this morning surprise. Apparently you hadn't sufficiently praised him lately for the obvious reduction in your mouse population.

    Giggle - Pete and Reggie need to "man up" and get the squeaker themselves! My cat drops things in the tub, toilet, her water bowl - but not live catch. It's usually a wide rubber band or plastic cap, her preferred toys!

    a barn fatality! Was it a suicide or murder?
    While I was excitedly admiring Pete's acrabatic tallents, Malcolm's reaction was a repeated "That's not cool!" Love the picture, but its sure not helping my "Get the Goat" campaign!

    Oh dear. I bet Pete and Reggie sure let you know all about that! And it sounds like George is starting to consider himself the house cat :) I found a mouse in the goat water here one morning, too. I guess they can't resist that cool, clear water.
