Off to Mexico? Untimely, but true

Oh man, this trip has really snuck up on me. (Is "snuck" even a word? Should it be "sneaked"? At 6:25 on a Sunday morning, I'm just not sure.) Anyway, despite everything else that's going on around here, things that normally would keep us pretty close to our new home, Jim and I are off to Mexico for the next week for a family (his side) reunion of sorts. I have been non-stop busy for the last three days trying to get the house (and property) in order for our houseguests.

You see, my mom and step-dad, with hearts of gold, have agreed to "babysit" the farm while we're gone. I sure hope they're still smiling when we get back. :-)

I wish everyone a wonderful, sunny and safe week. I'm off now to say goodbye to my 12 chicks. Hugging each of those 12 little feathery bodies will be difficult. They probably won't tolerate kisses. And Roxy, my pup, well, I'd just like to scoop her up and stick her in my carry-on bag. I'm just no good at saying goodbye!!

  5. Well, the "hearts of gold" are here(ha,ha). Everything looks so beautiful and peaceful. It is quite warm today, 72 degr. So we went to see the chickies right away. I think they liked us better when Daniella was around; they were quite shy. But after we let them out into the sunshine, they were happy and silly. Quite a responsibility these 12 girls, but so far they - and we - are still smiling...

  7. Have a good trip. I'm also terrible at goodbye. I'm going to be leaving my kitty for 3 days while we go to GA to look at houses. It will be hard saying bye to her too.

  15. I'm glad you are enjoying yourself, but are you back??? Being a chicken lover, I really enjoy reading about your chickens. Now with the donkeny's, your life is perfect!!! Now if I could talk my man into letting me get to mini goats, I'd have it made!

    WELCOME BACK!!!!

  18. Hi,
Did you know that your header picture has a hidden form of a heart in it?
Look at the shape that the two trees make and complete the heart below road.
    Just an observation...

p.s.s. I no longer have a blog, although I retained the blogger name
