T'was the night before donkeys....

and everything is ready.

Tomorrow afternoon, my six foster donkeys will be arriving from Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue.

There's fresh water in the stock tank:

The mineral and selenium blocks are in place:

A few bales of grass hay and bags of pellet bedding are stored close by:

Hoof picks, a bucket of brushes and lead ropes are hung outside the stalls:

Tools are hanging at the ready...shovel, manure rake, bedding rake and broom:

Each stall has been cleaned and has new bedding in place:

Freshly scrubbed buckets are secured in each stall:

One item remains on our "to-do" list: make a third stall door...hopefully soon:

It won't be long now...

Donkeys are finally coming to live in my barn.

  1. They have some nice digs waitin' for them! Can't wait for photo updates.

  2. Your barn is beautiful! You are ready. I am excited for you and can't wait to see them.

  3. You've got it looking better than the Hilton :) Can't WAIT to see the donkey pics!!

  4. Goodness, I'm so excited for you and I don't even live there. Everything looks wonderful!! Can I come hang out and scratch donkey foreheads??

  5. Yeah. I can't wait to here about them. You will have plenty to blog about in the future.
    Have fun.
So are you like their foster mother and people will adopt them or are they staying with you?

  6. Oh you are so ready. You better get busy with the door.. We can wait to see the pictures of them....

    Big Sloppy Kisses
    Gus and Louie

  7. Wow, are you prepared or what!?? That all looks GREAT! These are some lucky donkey's!!!

  8. Fancy Schmancy! Everything looks so....clean and perfect!
YOu remind me of myself before my twins were born...everything laid out perfectly in it's place.
    Then after they arrived...chaos! hehe

Betcha can't wait until your barn is christened with that first donkey poo!
Then it will be a 'true' barn.

Congrats. Can't wait to hear the adventures of the "Sies Burros".

  9. Isn't one very important item missing? Didn't the chicken girls have a baby monitor? Are they not willing to give it up? I'll be out to negotiate; perhaps we could share on alternate nights?

  10. Everything looks top notch Danni!! I cant wait to see their smiling faces!!!
Pats to Roxy, pecks to the girls and.....hummmmmm......say "Hay" to the donkeys!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!

  11. OOOOOOOO, looks good! CAN'T WAIT to see pictures of them and hear how it's going! Post soon!

  12. Looks like all is ready!! Those are going to be some happy donkeys. Can't wait to see them. I hope they are adjusting well to their new home!!

  13. I'm sad that there aren't any donkey photos up yet! I bet you are still out at the barn petting and lovin' them! By the way, I have an award at my blog for you. Don't feel obligated to follow the "rules". Just wanted you to know that your blog is one of my "faves!"

  14. Your barn is beautiful! The place we are getting doesn't have a barn at all so I'm jealous. I can't wait to see the donkeys in their barn.

  15. Ok lady, hurry and post about them already. It's Monday and we are perched on our computer chairs eagerly awaiting tons of photos and stories. This is one of the most anticipated events in the land of farm blogs. Don't keep us waiting! ;-)

  16. Everything looks great! They will LOVE their new home!!

  17. When I grow up (which is questionable at best!) I wanna have a barn as pretty as yours! Dang, girlfriend! BEAUTIFUL! What lucky donkeys you shall shelter.

  18. Looks like you are well prepared. Lucky donkeys! ~Kim
