How do I ever get anything done around here?

Today was the perfect day to get a few things done around the property.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it:

(And as is frequently the case here):

I had a lot of help:

This made it almost impossible:

for me:

to concentrate at all:

on my tasks at hand:

And I found myself frequently distracted:

Oh no, here come the chickens:

So you know what I did?

I took off my gloves...:

Sat down...:

And watched the show:

I'll mow the lawn tomorrow.

  5. Sounds like the perfect solution. :)

  6. No need to mow. Sit long enough and they'll graze it down for you. Unfortunately, not true with my goats, who will "prune" the roses before touching a blade of grass.

  7. Very wise choice. I mean how can you possibly ignore a chance to watch such goings on?

  8. I noticed you had the rake laying down in the correct position.

Your grass looks so lush and green, I am jealous.

Great picture of George sprinting off from some unwanted attention.

  11. Danni, why do it tomorrow? You have two big automatic lawn mowers already working for you.

  12. yay for you. Good choice. Take moments like this when they happen. That way you won't have to look back a wish for something different. Saged advice from The Olde Bagg

  13. You made the right choice! These are the moments that we dreamed about before moving to the country so you are obligated to sit back and enjoy them. Right?

  14. Looks like you made the right choice to me. Your place looks so lush and green. I bet your animals are enjoying the grass!

  15. The other day you were remarking about 'moments' and how important it is to notice them, be in them, appreciate them.

I think you were doing that to the fullest!

  16. I know how you feel. I am constantly wanting to go sit in the chicken pens and visit with the girls and guys. Or sit and watch the birds. Or go up to the pond to see what's happening there. Or just stay in the house with my Toby and Tuffy. You and I are both blessed with these special friends of ours.

  17. What a cast of characters you have; everyone seems to get along so well. It's great to see George right in the middle of everything. Have a great week!

  18. okay.... George is cracking me up!! He has made himself quite at home and looks like he was born and raised there. Cats are too funny that way.

And the lawn mowing??? I thought that is what goats are for :)

    Mow?

  24. That was definitely a show. :) Donkeys, chickens and a cat?! I can totally understand why you decided to wait until tomorrow to mow the grass. How fun!

  25. George is so comfy with everyone, he certainly is enjoying himself! Green grass - wow - hoping for some soon. It is 80 degrees here today though so I know it's on its way.

  26. Very green where you are! We need rain! Already sighh...

  27. Looks like the boys are doing an excellent job of mowing. I LOVE that George is insinuating his way into nearly every photograph. That boy is a member of the family, now. No doubt about it. He has adopted all of you. Any sign of the other raggedly ol' fellow...I'm sorry his name escapes me.
