A message from Chester

Chester asked me to tell you that he didn't think he got nearly enough attention in last Friday's big animal post.

He also wanted to show you his new cone:

He likes to pose with it (the color is stunning against his black fur):

Bite it:

Shake it:

Rub the side of his face against it...:

... "Hey you, girl with the hat who feeds me," interrupts Beau the gray donkey, marching confidently into the photographer's field of vision, "look at what I can do!":

"Aw, jeez!", sniffs Chester, trying to reclaim his limelight, "she's not going to be interested in that":

"But everyone should watch me do this...:"

"Phew! That was exhausting":

"Wow, Chet", says Beau, his eyes (and nostrils) growing quite wide:

"I don't know what to say other than...":

"That...

..was:

...really:

something!":

"I'm totally going to bite your face now, Beau..."

So, in summary, Chester just really wanted you to know he didn't get enough attention in that post last week:

Oh, and that he's got a new cone:

  2. OK - now that was just too plain hilarious! I like the ball-thingy - it reminds me of those hoppity hop things we had as kids, only in a smaller donkey version. Love the shots of Beau - Hee-Hawing! OMGoodness how funny! Great post Danni, and I hope you have a great weekend. Take care of you and the boys, and Kai. From KY.

  3. Hilaious!

You have an amazing affinity for your animals' communications. And for your camera, I might add. The last several of Beau were truly funny.

And Chester is a big cutie pie.

  5. I had no idea you had a couple of performers there on Critter Farm. Beau's facial expression is of superb depth, while Chester's acting methodology includes his entire body. I think those two are going to go far in the theatrical world of donkeys.

  8. Beau looks like he is trying to do a Moose impression.

I had no idea that they played with toys. I love the pictures of Chester on his back with his legs up - laying like a dog.

    Great picture series.

  21. Really enjoyed Chester and Beau's commentary! I can imagine Chester was really put out to not be part of the "big animal post"! :D

  22. I love this post, Danni! What great pictures... those boys are so full of character and personality! We are now minus traffic cones and jolly balls thanks to Mister Bernard. He has decided that he needs to shred everything and I'm terrified that he's going to swallow a piece of something. Oy.

  23. How on earth did you catch those pics of Beau yawning/sneezing?

Poor Chester, no one loves him or scratches his backside or buys him new toys. He wants to come live with me. :)
