Dottie was not quite ready to begin this year's egg laying sabbatical after all:
Today, she has officially laid for one day longer than she did last year.
Isn't it funny that I think this is big enough news for a special, up-to-the-minute blog post?
Sheesh.
You and Dottie crack me up! It's the little things in life that make life worth living. You know that. So do your readers. Keep posting just as you always have. We love it.
ReplyDeleteBuild enough suspense into it and you could run an egg pool next year. A buck a chance on which day's her last lay day!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding- I know you'd never do that.
You know Danni - they make medication for OCD - you can have some of mine! What I love about the photo is that you have the little sticky note in the egg carton with the date on it - too funny - you are such a card! Thanks for the early Sunday morning chuckle. Take care, from KY.
ReplyDeletemy egg envy continues!!!
ReplyDeletehahaha! It's like all kids...they just HAVE to prove you wrong!!!
ReplyDeletesounds like pretty important news to me! ;) Way to go, Dottie!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm hooked. I now want to know how many days Dottie goes year over year. Yay Dottie :)

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you have a label under each egg with the date it was laid. And here I thought I was being organized when I wrote "new" and "newer" on the outside of the cartons.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why you wouldn't think it was big news. I'm sure Dottie does. I know I would if it were me - plus most of the country would too if a goat laid an egg.
ReplyDeleteI love this!!! Dottie is such a good girl. I bet last week she said to herself that this was her short term goal...to make it past her sabbatical date last season. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy current post it tags in my egg carton are pink. :-)
Hey,when you love animals and have a farm, everything is worth a special post!!
ReplyDeleteOh Dottie, you rascal! Way to go keeping Danni on her toes . . . you go girl!
ReplyDeleteDottie just wants to remind you who's in charge.
ReplyDeleteHow much did it weight? :)
For someone like you who counts every single egg, this is an event worthy of a blog post. Question: How do you know who lays which egg? I know you count them, but I didn't know you counted them by individual chickens.--Inger
ReplyDeleteI'll say what I said to Linda yesterday......I love that you find joy and "newsworthiness" in the little things. If we just waited for the big things then our lives would be fairly pathetic don't you think??
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing Dottie's accomplishments!
Go Dottie, you show them that a polish can lay just as long as the 'proper' egg layers.

Hey there I'm originally a city turned country girl too! I'm over in Clackamas County. What part of the state are you in?

Maybe she was thinking it was leap year?
ReplyDeleteROFL what I think is funnier than you posting this info is that you KNOW that she has now laid one day longer than last year!! and um well the sticky note in the egg carton... mmmm tee hee....
ReplyDeleteHave the time I don't know what day it is for sure ROFL ROFL
Yay Dottie!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of eggs, my egg yolk tomatoes are still going strong. Thanks again for the seeds.
I have never managed to come to your blog and not have a smile on my face when I leave. And it is the only blog my husband sees me reading and asks what's going on with the animals. He loves hearing the stories too. I was several days behind so I just finished catching up. LOVED the Dottie posts. And those donkeys...always good for giggles. Thanks for the chuckles!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice thing to be wrong about. :)
