I was wrong

Dottie was not quite ready to begin this year's egg laying sabbatical after all:

Today, she has officially laid for one day longer than she did last year.

Isn't it funny that I think this is big enough news for a special, up-to-the-minute blog post?

Sheesh.

  1. You and Dottie crack me up! It's the little things in life that make life worth living. You know that. So do your readers. Keep posting just as you always have. We love it.

  2. Build enough suspense into it and you could run an egg pool next year. A buck a chance on which day's her last lay day!

Just kidding- I know you'd never do that.

  3. You know Danni - they make medication for OCD - you can have some of mine! What I love about the photo is that you have the little sticky note in the egg carton with the date on it - too funny - you are such a card! Thanks for the early Sunday morning chuckle. Take care, from KY.

  7. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you have a label under each egg with the date it was laid. And here I thought I was being organized when I wrote "new" and "newer" on the outside of the cartons.

  8. I don't know why you wouldn't think it was big news. I'm sure Dottie does. I know I would if it were me - plus most of the country would too if a goat laid an egg.

  9. I love this!!! Dottie is such a good girl. I bet last week she said to herself that this was her short term goal...to make it past her sabbatical date last season. :-)

My current post it tags in my egg carton are pink. :-)

  13. For someone like you who counts every single egg, this is an event worthy of a blog post. Question: How do you know who lays which egg? I know you count them, but I didn't know you counted them by individual chickens.--Inger

  14. I'll say what I said to Linda yesterday......I love that you find joy and "newsworthiness" in the little things. If we just waited for the big things then our lives would be fairly pathetic don't you think??

    thanks for sharing Dottie's accomplishments!

  15. Go Dottie, you show them that a polish can lay just as long as the 'proper' egg layers.

  20. I have never managed to come to your blog and not have a smile on my face when I leave. And it is the only blog my husband sees me reading and asks what's going on with the animals. He loves hearing the stories too. I was several days behind so I just finished catching up. LOVED the Dottie posts. And those donkeys...always good for giggles. Thanks for the chuckles!
