Has this ever happened to you?

I went to wash my kitchen windows a few weeks ago and as I cranked the one on the far right open, something wedged at the top of the window caught my eye:

That's right. Dehydrated frog.

Jeez.
Can't say that's ever happened before.

  1. Well, Danni! Here I sit, relaxing before I go back to bed, taking my night meds, and I come across your blog post - and am now laughing hysterically, and am wide awake! No, I can't say as I've ever had a dehydrated frog in my window, but I don't know when the last time was that I washed my windows - so who knows what I might find! I'll keep a close eye out next time, and let you know. You are tooooo funny! thanks for the midnight laugh in KY.

  2. No. Can't say that's ever happened to me before. But when remodeling the main bathroom, we found something behind the wall near the heater. There, on one of the horizontal boards, sat a group of dehydrated mice. Wish I had a photo to add.

  7. Very strange. What was a frog doing in the upper part of the window. That is weird. Maybe you had a giant spider at one time :) Enjoy you posts! I'm just getting started and reading a lot--your site is great!

  11. In the tiny picture on my sidebar of your post--it looks like you have a miniature "Alien" body.

I had that happen just last summer. Only it was stuck half in/half out of a hole in some plastic. I didn't discover it until it looked like your froggy.

  12. Uh, yup, has happened here. When I was rinsing off the heat pump two dehydrated frogs come floating out. I felt so bad for them.

  13. Yick! I feel like we spend all our time rescuing frogs once they jump in our pool and only then think about how they might climb back out. But, I've never had this happen...my cats don't let many injured animals hang around long enough to dehydrate :(

  14. Wow!!! It hasn't happened here but at my old work they would get in and then couldn't get out so I'd find dehydrated frogs all over the office carpet. =( RIP froggy!

  15. My husband found one in a pot on the front porch the other day. Also found a lizard on a beach a few years ago.... same condition. I don't know why they would be so preserved. It's spooky! like that show we went to called . Real preserved people and now... little preserved frogs and lizards. Something must be going on....Global Dehydration. Ahggggg!

  19. yes and yes. I have a window in our home office that is for some reason so attractive to frogs and lizards. I find a few every time I open it, of the crispy kind.
