Did you know it looked like this?

I know... I said yesterday I'd share a sad tale about blueberries today, but I just couldn't get all my pictures organized in time (So frustrating. How do you organize your digital photos over multiple years?)

Anyway, in lieu of blueberry sadness, I decided to share a donkey palate today instead.

I've seen my donkeys yawn:

And in Beau's case, he yawns a lot:

But not until I caught his yawn from this angle:

...had I ever seen the roof of his mouth:

I didn't know it looked like this. Did you?:

  3. Looks like he could do laundry in there. I had no idea.

After the poo pictures the other day, I have to admit I was hesitant to open this post. :)

  4. my horses' mouths are just as 'ridgy' :)

and i store my photos on an external hard drive in folders and subfolders by topic (i.e. birds, owls, barred owls, etc.) not the best, but it works for me...

  6. I've never even thought about the roof of a donkey's mouth, yet alone seen one! Oh my gosh, Danni . . . you make me smile and often you just crack me up every morning. Thank you!

  7. Oh, I hope you'll be able to photograph a few more critter palates for comparison. Fascinating!

  8. How do I organize my pictures? I have a folder for each year. In that folder I have a separate folder for videos.

To keep them organized in that folder by date, I name them with the year first, then the month, then the date. If it's one of the first 9 months, you have to use a zero first to keep them in the correct order (same with the first 9 days of the month).

In the description I don't type in the kids names, just their initials (except for Ainsley who is 'Ai'). That way when I'm searching for a certain pic of a kid, I can type in that letter and all pics with that kid will come up. Make sense?

So a pic taken of Gray and Ains at the library this February 3 would be '2011-02-03 Ai G library reading.jpg'

That system works really well for me.

And I have Carbonite backing everything up for me. I suppose I should use an external hard drive also, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. :)

  10. Do you know I yawned no less than three times while looking at Beau yawning? I think that's the most heart-felt yawn I've ever seen. He is just too darn cute - ridgy mouth roof and all.

  14. It IS donkey mouth day. How cool to see that gap in the teeth up close and personal. Don't you always wonder why everything was designed the way it was?

  16. I have to admit I've never seen the roof of an equine mouth. . .don't those donkeys have personality, though! http://homestead-for-sale.blogspot.com/

  17. Wowser, he has a unique looking mouth! But you know, I can't really say I know what the roof of a person's mouth really looks like up close like that! It may look strange, too!
