Visitors from the east

Apparently my previous post (bolded letters are a link) was a bit cryptic. I really didn't mean it to be. Although I "linked" to the real answer, some thought I was maybe suggesting that I was about to receive a shipment of llamas. (This was due to the fact that the picture I posted had llamas on the computer screen in the background).

I apologize for the confusion. While llamas are very nice, I'm not getting any. At least, not yet. The truth is....that llama picture is the front page of my friend, Marcee's, blog. And this is who has come to visit. While she was here once before, this time she has brought the rest of her family, too!

Our first full day together was all about getting to know each other and exploring the farm.

Roxy, my pup, is beside herself with joy. She suddenly has multiple new playmates and all of them like to PLAY. Of course, it didn't take long for Roxy and J. to become fast friends:

And who DOESN'T like to play on a drum set? I see a future for the G., J. and K. Band:

K. has been waiting for months to meet the chickens:

And was tickled to collect eggs for the first time:

The chickens were happy to see Marcee again and showed her by pulling out their best tricks:

After G.'s nap, he too, wanted to meet the chickens. He took bread to feed them:

He was excited to find that one of the girls had laid an egg, just for him, in the nest box:

He promptly gave this egg to his dad, but not before he told him quite a bit about it:

Back inside, the big kids humored me by trying their first-ever black olive (their mom thinks they're disgusting, I absolutely *adore* them):

Now, I could be wrong, but I think they agree with their mother:

Little G was very thrilled when "Mr. Jim" brought him something from his work: a specially wrapped, super compressed package that, when opened, revealed itself to be an extremely wrinkled, white t-shirt:

Later, G. set about creating great art while wearing it:

It's been fun having special friends from Illinois visit...I'm enjoying myself immensely.

Here's my parting shot...G. loving up his mama. He adores her:

  3. Awww.....so great!!! So much to comment on! First, I wanna know if Maude's gonna run right out and get chickens when she gets home. G's gonna need his nestbox fix now, you know. :)

I LOVE black olives! What's with everyone, Dorothy? I don't get it. I'm the only one in my family who likes them, but I don't mind....it means I don't have to share! :)

I loved that last picture. All I can say to that is: don't we all?

I'm glad you're enjoying the whirlwind that is young kids Danni. :)

  6. Did you have to pay those kids to taste those olives? Marc & I are still at arms over an olive deal we had when she was K's age. Hey! $1 for 1 olive, she only at one of them 50-cents. I'm paid up, I say!
