I went to feed the chickens yesterday evening and look what I found:
Roopert, the rooster, wasn't quite sure what to do about it, so he just stood guard:
Sarah was kind enough to use the small chicken-sized doors to get in and out and even managed not to tear the protective netting lightly strung across the top:
Silly donkeys!
How did she get in there!?
ReplyDeleteMaybe she was looking for refuge from the guy donkeys' kicking and fighting and decided to go hang out with Roopert.
It looks like Sarah was having a nice time in the chicken yard, and was careful not to fowl up the netting. Smart donkey. :)
ReplyDeleteThat totally cracked me up! I am still chuckling. Good boy, Roopert! Guard that coop.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see things are pretty much back to "normal" on Critter Farm. Good to hear that your Mom is doing well today. She was definitely in my thoughts last night.
That is so funny. (or not?) But the photos are cute. One thing I should mention: my parents had erected a similar protective netting over their coop many years ago, until it snowed. Much to their surprise, the snow accumulated on top and collapsed the whole thing. I guess they figured the snow would fall through. Just a little warning for you.
ReplyDeleteDanni I CANNOT believe Sarah got in there and did that!!!! Well, she is one polite donkey!! Here my guineas are becoming quite the naughty kids...and your donks are just getting better and better!!
ReplyDeleteHope your mom is feeling better!
OMGoodness!! The very first thing I thought was, "Oh no, Danni's chicken run is toast!" Hooray for Sarah for being so ladylike.
ReplyDeleteYou know you now have a problem. She'll tell her friends about how yummy the chicken food is.
Oh my goodness. I'm so glad it was a donkey and not some unwelcome visitor. I was worried at first. LOL
ReplyDeleteHow nice of her to not tear the netting! I think this is definitely NOT something you want to find in your chicken run. How funny! Roopert must have been so confused.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha Ha. That is what I love about a farm with animals. You never know what you are going to see.
ReplyDeleteLOL how funny! Rupert was so nice to invite the donkey in!

Farmer Jen mentioned your mom doing well today, but I can't find mention of it. Is she okay? I sure hope so!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! What a smart girl!
ReplyDeleteThat would be the last thing I would expect to see in my chicken run. That's amazing she was able to get in there!
ReplyDeleteIs Sarah a brave donkey or is she a little chicken?
ReplyDeleteHilarious!! Glad you got the shot!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a silly donkey! How entertaining they are.
ReplyDeleteThat is a riot!!! ~Kim
