She is beautiful! How funny you posted about one of your girlies today and I just finished blogging about one of my girlies! Is that a llama girl in the background of pic two? I think it is!!!
Yes, she is. I think I want chickens, but I have to build my garden first. Don't want to chew off too much the first year. Maybe bees and chickens next year....enjoy your girls.
I'm glad someone else just sits down with their chickens for a chat. Which one of your hens is the 'gossip'? I lost my gossip hen, Audrey over the summer. Cowgirl's a beauty.
Hi Cowgirl!!! Such a good girl she is. It looks like Spongebob may be wondering why shes not sitting on your knee. And is that Kai I see in the chicken pasture??? Hi Kai!
As soon as I saw your title, I started singing that "Oh Suzannah" song, with a modification of "chicken on my knee" instead of "banjo on my knee" and now it's stuck in my head. I'm gonna be singing that all night! ARGH! (cute chickens!)
Cowgirl is a pretty chicken and she seems very comfortable on your knee. Did you handle her from when she was a chick? She is very tame. Cute photos...
I do think Cowgirl is beautiful. I love admiring the design formations their feathers make, just gorgeous. She's looking purdeeee darn comfy just sittin' on your knee. May 2010 be a good one at Critter Farm.
Cowgirl is a cutie! My chickens aren't particularly friendly but I do love how if I sit still long enough out on the pasture a few will hop up on me to check me out. :)
I was thinking that it sounded like the line of a song "chicken on my knee" ....Claire pegged it. Unfortunately now "I" have that song stuck in my head.....
Oh i wish i had a chicken on my knee Oh i wish i had a chicken on my knee i would be a happy me as happy as can be Oh i wish i had a chicken on my kneeeeeEEEEEEEE! There! I made you a New Year's song!
I'm relatively new to your blog but LOVE it. It takes me to my "happy place" everytime. What a peaceful way to start the day....just hanging out with your chickens.
Yes, it is a nice way to start a day, with a chicken on your knee. That is how I started my day today - it always puts me in my happy place... Your animals love you, Danni!
Sorry about this late comment: Your morning looks so peaceful and yes the chicken is pretty and I just love the big fur trees in the background. What a lovely place you found for your dream!
I have to tell you that I spent the whole day cleaning stalls and pens surrounded by my chickens with "a chicken on my knee" going round and round in my head:)
oh, hai cowgirl!
ReplyDeleteAt least she doesn't have a scary face. :) Some people torture their visitors with that!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well on your side of the mountain. I am hoping for a productive and healthy year, and wishing the same to you.
Peace!

ReplyDeleteYes, she is, and I bet that felt good and warm to her feet. Looks as if y'all were having a "hen party". Were roosters allowed?

She's definitely pretty and clever, too. I have to admit though...my eye was drawn to the sweet little tan girl eyeing Cowgirl's perch.
