  4. I was going down through the pictures and thought "She's taking *those* shoes to do construction?" and then I came across your work boots. Okay then. lol

I hope you have an absolutely fantastic time.

  5. Lots of clues in here but I still can't figure out your destination...three pairs of flip flops, two pairs of work boots...no snacks for Roxy, so I guess she's not going, but then again she's got her own sleeping bag. Let me know how you like the "Wisdom of Donkeys" book. Looks like I might need to add that to my shelf.

    Have a wonderful time!

  8. That's awesome! You guys are going to have so much fun! I just left a position at an orphanage in Nicaragua and am about to start with Habitat for Humanity in Wyoming, but I'm from the northwest and have been reading your blog all along!

  9. Can I just say that I am SO glad to see those hot pink flip flops. So glad.

And all the pretty necklaces. LOVE those. Especially the copper and green ones.

And hey, those chargers look awfully familiar to me.

Really? Thats ALL the snacks youre taking?

Okay, I honestly have something to say about every single photo, but Ill stop now. Have a very safe and very fun trip. Tell A to take good care of his mama and to have an excellent time.

  10. Where are you going? My boyfriend does a lot of Habitat for Humanity volunteer work. I confess, I don't quite get the concept yet. I'm sure I'll be getting my hands dirty very soon though.

I adore Roxy and that photo of her in the sleeping bag with her bunny pal is the cutest thing! Is Roxy joining you on your trip?

  12. Sounds like a great trip. Looking forward to hearing about it. P.S your last post reminded me that I (nurse) Kim is SO overdue for her tetanus. They hurt though, better to give then receive. Hee, hee, have fun Danni!

  13. Your Roxy girl is so photogenic, I haven't seen a bad pic of her yet. That one of her in the sleeping bag is too adorable.
Have fun and try not to stress to much about the flight. You both are doing a great thing.

  14. Hi Farmer Jen - actually, you were! I needed the moral support! :-)

Hey goatgirl - That is THE best part about this upcoming trip, let me tell you! :-)

Hi Di - Well, we have similar tastes in a lot of things, so this doesn't surprise me. Mine has a tendency to snag, though, which frustrates me to no end. I know that HFH has a special place in your heart - I look forward to talking about our experiences with you!

Hey Sarah, LOL. I've never been known for my reasonable choices in footwear, but yes, boots are required for this trip. Of course, the bigger ones in that photo are my son's (and not for when my feet swell).... :-)

Hi 7MSN - sob, sniff...Roxy is staying home this trip. Someone has to take care of my Jim. :-) . Oh, and ALL sleeping bags (and pillows) belong to Roxy. Even when they don't. lol.
I'll let you know about the book. Jim got it for me for my birthday.

Hi Esther - Roxy starts getting a bit nervous when the suitcases come out. I've caught her IN it a few times...digging, no less! :-)

Hey Eve...Unlimited time with my son AND warmth...what more could a mama ask for? ;-)

Hi Nicole - wow, Nicaragua! I just went over to take a look at your blog and saw in your sidebar that you are/were also part of AmeriCorp. I'd love to hear about your experiences with this organization as my son is wanting to join AmeriCorp when he graduates next year and spend a year doing this before college. The pictures on your blog are incredible! I'm adding you to my Google Reader so I can read more when I get back. (Thanks for your comment!)

Hey frugalmom - I knew you'd appreciate the pink ones in the plastic bag!! And that charger is MINE. Yours is in a box somewhere. But that one is MINE now, too. mwah ha ha. And yes, those are the snacks I'm taking for the trip down. We will buy more upon arrival. :-)

Hi carolynn - As you know, Roxy involves herself in everything we do around here. Spoiled farm doggy! But sadly, she will not be joining us on our trip. And...guess what, Roxy's "bunny pal" is a floppy DONKEY! :-)

Hey farm mom - I'm going to feel so CUT OFF from you guys! I promise to save up lots of good stories, though. <3

Hi country girl - Regarding the tetanus booster, someone told me that if you're in health care or emergency services (fire dept, etc.) you might even want to get a booster every five years instead of every ten! And you're so right - it did hurt! My arm was sore for a few days after, too.

Hey sugarcreekstuff!!! You know me too well. I've, uh, got the flight(s) covered. If you know what I mean. I hope. It sucks, though, that we have to transfer THREE times!! We'll be travelling for 16 hours tomorrow. ugh.

  15. Ok, where is the fancy new tool belt B. gave you for your birthday??!!!! I really think you should wear it on the plane. I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble at security..... BTW, where is your separate shoe bag? And the lap top? And the doggie crate? Oh yeah, I remember none of that stuff can go. Roxy already knows, just as my Schnauzi always does. But, holding back her tears, she is making herself useful by seriously helping you pack. Have a great time doing what you'll be doing, and enjoy every moment with your sweet boy!
I miss you already. Stay safe and hurry back.
