Now how long has *that* been in there?:
I can't remember the last time I wore this coat.
Such a pretty egg, too:
On a happy note, I found my keys. And an old tissue, too. I can use both of those again.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who does stuff like this.
My wife usually finds cash in hers. :)
ReplyDeletewell, I've yet to forget an egg. I did, however, halve an apple for the pony & forgot both halves in my coat pocket. They turned to spoiled applesauce that gave me quite a shock when I wore that coat the next time. (A month or so later)
ReplyDeleteHee,hee...I regulary find an egg somewhere elusive
ReplyDeleteIn fact I did a blog post awhile back about an egg in my handbag...
I also often pop them in plant pots whilst I attend to something in the yard and forget them till they are discovered by myself or the kids...
At least you found it before you put the coat in the washer.
ReplyDeleteI did the other day. Then I grabbed my coat the next morning flung it around my shoulders and the egg went flying. SPLAT! All over the rug. Could it have hit the vinyl in the kitchen instead? NO! What a mess. At least it wasn't too old. Those can be a bit smelly. Lucky you found your keys.
ReplyDeleteFrom the same but different files:
ReplyDeleteOne easter the weather was terrible so we hid easter eggs (hard boiled, at least) in the house. Unfortunately, we couldn't find them all.
Fast forward probably six months... I was heading to drill and threw all my stuff in my seabag and when I got to work to unload things I kept thinking "what the hell is that SMELL?" And when I pulled out my gas mask to test fit it, I found out.
Yuck.
Hope your egg didn't stink.
Danni......you're NOT the only one who does stuff like this! (-: Maybe one not to be used.....
ReplyDeleteI could totally see myself doing something like that! LOL! It sure is a pretty egg. Did it smell?
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only one who does things like that! Last week my hubby lost his keys. I found them two days later in the top of the chest freezer!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou aren't the only one that does this...
ReplyDeleteI'll be the first to tell you that you are DEFINITELY not the only one to do that. I am constantly finding things in coat pockets (eggs from who knows when among them). I really enjoy it when I find money!
ReplyDeleteI'm heading down you direction tonight. Meeting Dolly the donkey tomorrow morning then heading for a felting class south of Eugene.
I'm going to really try and get back into my blogging when I get home.
I found three eggs in my 'nice coat' pocket. I'd forgotten I'd worn it into the coop one day to check on their water and grabbed the eggs. I found them at the store when I was looking for my wallet.
ReplyDeleteBe glad it didn't break! And rest assured, we all do things like this! A couple of weeks ago I found an egg on top of the washer. I didn't even remember putting it there. These things just happen.
ReplyDeleteOh Danni I'm always doing things like that. My "boys" tell me my gravestone should read "have you seen my glasses"
ReplyDeleteI don't have chickens, so haven't ever found an egg in my pocket...but I'm always thinking I can't find something I JUST picked up and am carrying around with me...like my keys. Hello, RIGHT there in my hand :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm trying to email you but am no longer on facebook
Robbyn
Your the only one who does this without actually breaking the egg.Nice work! I forget about an egg in the pocket that eventually breaks about once every couple of months.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll admit, I've never left one in a pocket for an extended period of time---just put one in my pocket and squished it before I make it in the house.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I don't even want to THINK about the smell if you open that egg. OY.
ReplyDeleteOh Danni, I do that kinda think often . . . and yet I'm much older than you! But with me it could have been as recently as just yesterday, teeHee!
ReplyDeleteIt IS a beautiful egg.
Youre not the only one who does that. I promise.
ReplyDeleteAt least it is still intact. I just took a picture of a smoshed one in my pocket. I've done that a few times, once at my kids school.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could find my hair again that easily! But now eggs...I think you may be the only person to find an egg in your coat...yup...it's just you
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only one, I have tissues and keys in my pocket too!
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only one who does stuff like this! I once discovered an egg in my jacket pocket while on a road trip from home to Los Angeles to visit relatives. The egg was fresh, just laid the day before and forgotten by me in my jacket pocket. I stored it in the fridge while I was visiting in LA, and then forgot to take it back home with me. Absent minded farmgirls....
ReplyDeleteNo, you're not the only one to leave an egg in a jacket pocket. AT least it isn't a scrambled egg! I've that happen also.
ReplyDeleteWait until you put them in a sweater pocket, bend down, and end up crushing the egg in your sweater...
ReplyDeleteyes, been there, done that, own the T-shirt, lol. :D
Well, I haven't done it yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely not alone on this one. On more than one occassion I have forgotten eggs in my pockets. I usually remember right as I hear a crack and feel gooey egg smooshing in there.
ReplyDeleteOh... funny... sideache...
ReplyDeleteI found one in my stylish jacket pocket the other day... broken. So, I stick my hand in my pocket at the hardware store and pull it out with... some viscous goo dripping off it. No, really, I have an egg... oh, nevermind.
I also found one in my pocket at the nursery once and gave it to the nice woman I met there. The look on her face was truly priceless. Happiness with a tinge of "but I'm not going to eat this."
That could have turned out a heck of a lot worse Danni!!! Ha Ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm usually infamous for putting them in my pocket, forgetting they're there within minutes, and then squishing them in there before I even make it back to the house. Yeah....fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO my pocket...right down to the egg.
ReplyDeleteYeah, been there. I really need an egg basket so I stop using my pockets.
ReplyDeleteActually, Daniella, I wore that coat while farm sitting. On the way to the mail box (hence the mail box key) I stopped to get the eggs. There was only one, and I put it in my pocket.
ReplyDeleteI have never forgotten an egg in my pocket but I have squished them accidentally. But I have left lots of other things in my pockets. Sometimes is is money but most often just stuff. The last time I found a pair of scissors I used to cut open the chicken feed bag that would not open with the usual pull of the string. I totally forgot that I had those scissors and looked for weeks for them. Found them the other day. After I washed the coat.
ReplyDeleteHow funny. I've never done that, but I do frequently find "lost" grocery lists, plants, seeds, and all kinds of weird stuff in my pockets and the cuffs of my pants.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the wonderful comments - and support - that I'm not the only forgetful one out there! For a second, I was worried it might have something to do with my (advancing) age, but no...you all are just as goofy as I am. (Except for jimmycrackedcorn's wife who finds CASH in her pockets!) :-)
ReplyDeleteTo those who wondered whether the egg stunk: it did not. I don't think. I did not crack it open to find out. It went into the garbage. After I weighed it, of course. :-)
To Wrensong Farm: Good luck with your donkey visit. There's always adoption if this one doesn't work out... :-)
To Robbyn: I emailed you back on Friday. :-)
To Warren: I found some hair in that pocket, too. I'm sending it to you just in case you can use it.
To Zitrone: Yeah, thanks for trying to make me feel better here, but it wasn't you that did this (this time, anyway). That would have made that egg over 5 weeks old!! I know I've worn the coat since then. :-)
I do this too! I really hate it when I forget and sit down and break them in my pocket. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteDid that once...in the pocket of hubbies work coat.
ReplyDeleteHe proceeded to put on the coat and break the egg...
He was not pleased!!! Kim
OMG! You are SOOO not the only one who does this! I did this but my Cell Phone was in there and the egg broke! That is not a good thing! I am talking with a cell phone that has egg yolk all dried up on it now and everyone says they can hardly hear me!!
