What to do when it's 102

If you're Holly the donkey, you take a nap in the sun:

You move over just a bit to accommodate the friend who decides to join you:

and politely ignore the dust he generates from his rolling around:

And then you immediately doze off in the sun again:

If only it were just a *bit* warmer...

  1. 102! In Oregon! I didn't think that was possible. It doesn't even get that hot in New Mexico...usually. At least your critters have plenty of shade if they want it.

  5. Gosh, are folks just dropping like flies? The donks don't seem to mind it too much.
I love the little extra "chicken little" figurine to go with the temperature gauge. He looks like "oh my, oh my!!"

  9. I am always amazed that in that kind of heat they are laying out in the sun. I am so glad it is cooling down here. Is it there?
It must have been like the Weather Super Bowl for your weather loving hubby:)

  10. Are you sure that's the right temp? Which thermometer is that? Did you consult all the other thermometers? Did you average at all the readings? I mean you need to be sure, right?

  15. 102? Yuck! Its not even been that warm for a long while here in Hot Dry Kansas! My parents have a rottweiler who pants all the time, has to have a fan blowing on her, but if you let her out in the summer, she goes and lies in the sun. Go figure!
Thanks for the info on blog tracker! As soon as I have time, I'll set it up!

  17. Aren't donkeys funny? I had a little BLM burro for a few years and he wasn't happy unless it was above 100* and he could sleep in his dust hole. Too stinkin' cute how they fluff their tail and send up little "smoke signals." I miss my donkey, mind if I stop by and enjoy yours?
I found you over at Tammy's Wren Song Farm.
