I posted no pictures.
7 years later, I live much of the life I dreamed of 7 years ago... a life with more wonderful animals than I ever could have hoped for and a beautiful piece of land to grow all the things I ever wanted to.
I also have backup hard drives with thousands and thousands of pictures stored on them that tell the story of my life since I became a farm girl - all the good *and* the bad. This blog will never be without pictures again.
Despite all the time that has gone by and all the changes - some incredibly challenging - that have happened, I still wake up every single day feeling so fortunate to be where I am. I don't know what the next 7 years will bring, but I hope that I will continue to be able to post a few pictures on my blog every now and then, and share a story about my critters that made me smile.
I just wanted to mark today with a post because 7 years suddenly feels like a long time to me.
Bippity and Thumper (who have grown up on this blog and are now 6 1/2 years old) think so, too. :-) 
I'm so happy to see a post from you, Danni! Congratulations on the 7th anniversary of your splendid blog, and thank you so much for your message and these wonderful new photos.

ReplyDeleteI love the old lady chickens. Their upper eyelids droop and they walk around with such quiet purpose. They know how each day is supposed to go.
Farm Girl, Congratulations on your 7th anniversary of The Plunge. How well it worked out for you! It is interesting that you knew your nature at an early age and remembered to go toward it as an adult.
ReplyDeleteWhen my dad went into partial retirement, he bought land and had a house custom built and bought three horses to care for. I thought he was nuts. He had had dogs before. But horses? Long story short, tending to those horses made him healthier than he had ever been as an adult, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
So sudden moves in new but deeply rooted directions can work out beyond expectation.
If life is what you want it to be, Dani, you are truly blessed. Glad you posted this so we know you are..

Not sure, but I think it was on your blog that I read a couple of years ago one of the most amusing stories which I still remember. A couple of llamas weren't friendly to the burro so he got his revenge when he followed you into the barn, then shut the gate so they couldn't get in. That still tickles my funny bone.
